早上7点把电脑拆开清灰,其间把cpu 显卡都拆下来,再装上去,竟然启动不了了,bois提示错误,于是把bois清空,还是不行.干脆把电池拆下重装,按下电源,啥反应没有,屏幕黑的.以为bois烧坏.又想到可能cpu没装好,于是又重装了下,启动,还是没反应.又把bois跳线跳来跳去,跳了几下,竟然好了.累死了,竟然搞了两个小时.

Make sure you have created a user. For the sake of this example, let's say you called the account username guest. You can give it any temporary password you want. Setting up a computer to share its internet connection should be easy.After all, you’ve successfully networked your computers together and even shared files with all your home computers, so why not the Internet? Well if you have a small home network of computers all connected and have tried to open up a browser, you’ve probably found out that things aren’t quite as straight forward as connecting one machine with an Ethernet cable to the computer that has the DSL/cable modem.
The secret is that everything comes down to having a gateway.
A gateway is a computer or device than can route data between different networks. Put it this way, if your computers are on one network and every other computer connected to the Internet is on a different one, to pass information across network boundaries you need a device which is connected to both networks and equipped to decide whether information from one network should go out to the other network, and vice versa.
So, without a gateway there is no way for the other computers in your network to receive or pass information to the other networks, and consequently, they have no Internet access.
The computer in your small network which is directly connected to the cable or DSL modem is provided with a default gateway by the Internet service provider. That allows the computer to connect to the interenet, but unfortunately for us that gateway is not part of your home network - rather it is a separate network formed between the computer connected to the cable/DSL modem and the ISP itself.
In order to enable Internet access on the rest of your small home network, the computer or device that connects with your ISP must become a gateway for the computers in your local home network. Once this has been configured, it will enable all of the other home network computers to access the Internet by sending and receiving information through that gateway.
The easiest way of acquiring a gateway for your home network is to buy a cable/DSL router. Given how cheap they currently are (about a quarter of the price they commanded when they first appeared in the marketplace), there really isn’t much of an excuse not to buy one.
The major advantages of having a hardware router doing your internet sharing include minimal configuration, since they are set up to act as a gateway by default (it’s pretty much all they do), increased reliability (they are not a PC… PCs crash.), and security, since most of these devices incorporate a firewall. Highly recommended!
You’ll also need
a working dial-up Internet account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or
a working broadband (cable, DSL, satellite, etc.) Internet connection.
Share your Internet connection using the following Procedure
Note: Type all the following commands in a root terminal

说是xmame-x11好像和ATI的fglrx有点问题, 换成xmame-sdl变OK了.不过这个方法我没试过.

If anyones interested I found the problem with the black screen on Mame - at least, this worked on my machine using KXMame. I believe the problem has to do with the DGA video mode when running an ATI graphics card with the fglrx drivers, which is buggy and/or broken.
I have been tweaking around with my xorg.conf file and made the following changes:
Under Section "Module"
SubSection "extmod"
Option "omit xfree86-dga" #Don't initialize the DGA extension
EndSubSection
And commented out the extmod module with a #, like so

Restarted X with a ctrl+alt+backspace and voila! I no longer get the black screen when launching kxmame/gxmame. It took quite a lot of investigation, I hope someone finds this useful.

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 15.
Right-click anywhereinside the firefox winodw and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0″.
Firefox downloads webpages from links it thinks you may click. This may make the "experience" seem faster but really it just bogs down Firefox and you PC.
Set "network.prefetch-next" to false
Remove some annoying Firefox features:
Turn off chrome tooltips, this causes little pop up winodws to tell you what your mouse is hovering over. If you been using Firefox for as long or longer than I have (before 1.0) you really don't need to be told what the back button does. It also hinders dragging a bookmark into the bookmark toolbar folder, the tool tip gets in the way and prevents the drop from working.

* 不过它会同时用 Unicode 编码填满 D3v1, ID3v2, APEv2 标签，但是 ID3v1 又不支持中文的 Unicode 编码，所以转换后的 ID3v1 标签全是问号。所以最好加上 –remove-v1 参数，转换后删除 ID3v1 标签。

Ubuntu forces drives to be checked once for every 30 times the filesystem is mounted. This means that on an average, once every 30 times you bootup your computer, the filesystem integrity is checked. This is very reasonable for a desktop, which is seldom rebooted. However, for a laptop, this means pain, since you may be planning on making a presentation, and Ubuntu may start a filesystem check just when you hook up your laptop to the projector and bootup! Today we will see how to disable (or force) the checking temporarily, and also how to adjust the period and frequency of the check.
To disable filesystem integrity check for the next bootup, create a file called /fastboot. So a
$sudo touch /fastboot
will disable filesystem check for the next time you bootup. Since the /fastboot file is removed during bootup, this will disable filesystem check only once - for the one time you bootup after you create the /fastboot file (which need not have anything in it — hence the touch, which only creates the file)
On the contrary to force a filesystem check the next time you bootup, create a file called /forcefsck by doing
$sudo touch forcefsck
Now, on to the more interesting business of how to change the number of bootups between filesystem checks, and modifying the period with which the filesystem is checked. The following applies to ext2 and ext3 filesystems.
tune2fs is an utility that you can use to change both the number of bootups between filesystem checks, and the number of days/weeks/months between filesystem checks.
For example to have the filesystem checked once every 60 bootups use
$sudo tune2fs -c 60
To have the filesystem check run periodically, say once a week, use
$sudo tune2fs -i 1w
changing the “w” to “d” or “m” will have the check run once daily and once monthly - you get the idea.

The following will explain how to share your Internet connection:
Note: Type all the following commands in a root terminal, DO NOT use sudo.
1. Start by configuring the network card that interfaces to the other computers on you network:
# ifconfig ethX ip
where ethX is the network card and ip is your desired server ip address (Usually 192.168.0.1 is used)
2. Then configure the NAT as follows:
# iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ethX -j MASQUERADE
where ethX is the network card that the Internet is coming from
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
3. Install dnsmasq and ipmasq using apt-get:
# apt-get install dnsmasq ipmasq
4. Restart dnsmasq:
# /etc/init.d/dnsmasq restart
5. Reconfigure ipmasq to start after networking has been started:
# dpkg-reconfigure ipmasq
6. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
7. Add the line "net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1" to /etc/sysctl.conf
# gedit /etc/sysctl.conf
8. Reboot. (Optional)

并且值得注意的是，这里有个很有趣的地方：在twice之前有2个blood，在three之前有3个blood，将full和fire看成four和five*谐音*，那么full之前也是4个blood。而fire所指的‘that blood’，就是full后面的那个，正是第五个blood。当然这只是我个人的看法，不知道是不是正确的：）
首先要说的是，这只能是一个非常个人化的选择，随便换另一个人，可能就会把它们全部推翻。人生必看的十部电影，这个题目大了点，没有人的答案能够放之四海而皆准，就好像没有人能够告诉我们面对纷繁世事究竟应该怎样活着。岂能尽如人意，但求无愧我心，这大概是我们唯一能够确定的事了。

The Architect’s Newspaper is my new favorite design publication. It’s a 16-page tabloid that comes out about twice a month. It’s literate and timely, a fast-paced collection of news, reviews and opinion from voices as various as Michael Sorkin, Peter Slatin and Craig Konyk, all beautifully designed (in two ruthlessly efficient colors) by Martin Perrin. And, best of all, it has a gossip column. Last month, they published a piece by Michael McDonough, the accomplished New York-based architect, writer and teacher, called “The Top 10 Things They Never Taught Me in Design School.” I read lots of these kinds of things (and even written a few myself), but I found McDonough’s not just entertaining but actually quite useful, and valid for nearly any kind of design discipline. He has graciously given us permission to reprint it here at Design Observer.
The Top 10 Things They Never Taught Me in Design School
by Michael McDonough 1. Talent is one-third of the success equation.
Talent is important in any profession, but it is no guarantee of success. Hard work and luck are equally important. Hard work means self-discipline and sacrifice. Luck means, among other things, access to power, whether it is social contacts or money or timing. In fact, if you are not very talented, you can still succeed by emphasizing the other two. If you think I am wrong, just look around. 2. 95 percent of any creative profession is shit work.
Only 5 percent is actually, in some simplistic way, fun. In school that is what you focus on; it is 100 percent fun. Tick-tock. In real life, most of the time there is paper work, drafting boring stuff, fact-checking, negotiating, selling, collecting money, paying taxes, and so forth. If you don’t learn to love the boring, aggravating, and stupid parts of your profession and perform them with diligence and care, you will never succeed. 3. If everything is equally important, then nothing is very important.
You hear a lot about details, from “Don’t sweat the details” to “God is in the details.” Both are true, but with a very important explanation: hierarchy. You must decide what is important, and then attend to it first and foremost. Everything is important, yes. But not everything is equally important. A very successful real estate person taught me this. He told me, “Watch King Rat. You’ll get it.” 4. Don’t over-think a problem.
One time when I was in graduate school, the late, great Steven Izenour said to me, after only a week or so into a ten-week problem, “OK, you solved it. Now draw it up.” Every other critic I ever had always tried to complicate and prolong a problem when, in fact, it had already been solved. Designers are obsessive by nature. This was a revelation. Sometimes you just hit it. The thing is done. Move on. 5. Start with what you know; then remove the unknowns.
In design this means “draw what you know.” Start by putting down what you already know and already understand. If you are designing a chair, for example, you know that humans are of predictable height. The seat height, the angle of repose, and the loading requirements can at least be approximated. So draw them. Most students panic when faced with something they do not know and cannot control. Forget about it. Begin at the beginning. Then work on each unknown, solving and removing them one at a time. It is the most important rule of design. In Zen it is expressed as “Be where you are.” It works. 6. Don’t forget your goal.
Definition of a fanatic: Someone who redoubles his effort after forgetting his goal. Students and young designers often approach a problem with insight and brilliance, and subsequently let it slip away in confusion, fear and wasted effort. They forget their goals, and make up new ones as they go along. Original thought is a kind of gift from the gods. Artists know this. “Hold the moment,” they say. “Honor it.” Get your idea down on a slip of paper and tape it up in front of you. 7. When you throw your weight around, you usually fall off balance.
Overconfidence is as bad as no confidence. Be humble in approaching problems. Realize and accept your ignorance, then work diligently to educate yourself out of it. Ask questions. Power – the power to create things and impose them on the world – is a privilege. Do not abuse it, do not underestimate its difficulty, or it will come around and bite you on the ass. The great Karmic wheel, however slowly, turns. 8. The road to hell is paved with good intentions; or, no good deed goes unpunished.
The world is not set up to facilitate the best any more than it is set up to facilitate the worst. It doesn’t depend on brilliance or innovation because if it did, the system would be unpredictable. It requires averages and predictables. So, good deeds and brilliant ideas go against the grain of the social contract almost by definition. They will be challenged and will require enormous effort to succeed. Most fail. Expect to work hard, expect to fail a few times, and expect to be rejected. Our work is like martial arts or military strategy: Never underestimate your opponent. If you believe in excellence, your opponent will pretty much be everything. 9. It all comes down to output.
No matter how cool your computer rendering is, no matter how brilliant your essay is, no matter how fabulous your whatever is, if you can’t output it, distribute it, and make it known, it basically doesn’t exist. Orient yourself to output. Schedule output. Output, output, output. Show Me The Output. 10. The rest of the world counts.
If you hope to accomplish anything, you will inevitably need all of the people you hated in high school. I once attended a very prestigious design school where the idea was “If you are here, you are so important, the rest of the world doesn’t count.” Not a single person from that school that I know of has ever been really successful outside of school. In fact, most are the kind of mid-level management drones and hacks they so despised as students. A suit does not make you a genius. No matter how good your design is, somebody has to construct or manufacture it. Somebody has to insure it. Somebody has to buy it. Respect those people. You need them. Big time.
